M-Road is a two years multilateral Developmen of Innovation Project approved by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of Lifelong Learning Programme, under Leonardo da Vinci call 2012.
M-Road consortium, leaded by TCM-UGT-CyL, one of the most representative Trade Unions at national and regional levels in transport sector, was set according to the project objectives and professional expertise required to sucessfully carry out the planned activities. Each partner represents different EU territorial context and fields of expertise, comprising the whole range of competences required, such as ground experience in adult education, in application of ICTs to formal and non formal and informal training, and in the development of training addressed to workers from the road transport sector.
Fostering key competences (Sense of initiative, entrepreneurship and Digital competences) in the road transport sector is necessary in order to prepare the operators to compete proficiently, have sustainable businesses, create employ, added value and face new demands (environmental, social and safety), skills and requirements coming from their sector. Thus, is necessary to create suitable learning environments based on ICT which allow the acquisition of the required new competences and skills.
M-Road project takes as basis the special need of training that suffer workers from the road transport sector. M-Road project aiming to overcome the training gap of the above mentioned groups, wants to develop an innovative m-learning tool addressed to autonomous workers and owners of Road transport SME (with businesses in their first phase: 1-3 years) to train them on those key competences needed to compete and face the new economical crisis.
